Thrive Dance sk - Studio Handbook
We are so looking forward to the upcoming dance season and are thrilled you are interested in being a part of our Thrive Dance SK (TDSK) dancing family!
For new and returning students, we ask that you read over the following before registering, as it has a lot of important information regarding the season and the studio, guidelines and policies. This studio handbook is also a great reference throughout the season as it may have answers to any questions you may have.
Note: The information in this handbook is subject to change at any time throughout the season. All changes to the handbook will be communicated to dance families at the time of adjustment.
As a condition of enrollment at Thrive Dance SK, all parties agree to abide by all policies and information in the studio handbook. Thrive Dance SK reserves the right to terminate any student’s enrollment at any time for misconduct or inappropriate actions by either the student or their parents/guardians.

Medical & Emergencies Policy
The dancer and their legal parents/guardians give permission to Thrive Dance SK, its Studio Owners, and operations to seek medical treatment for participants in the event that they are not able to reach a parent/guardian. I hereby declare any physical/mental problems, restrictions, or conditions and/or declare the participant to be in good physical and mental health. I request that in a medical emergency, a doctor/physician may be called and that my child be transported to the hospital at the discretion of Thrive Dance SK.
I acknowledge that Thrive Dance SK has an Emergency Protocol that enables prompt and effective responses to emergency situations. I understand that Thrive Dance SK employs qualified personnel and is responsible and trained to take specific actions to be undertaken in response to different emergency situations and reporting requirements. Thrive Dance SK will have someone on-call at all teaching times to respond to any emergency situations that may arise.
Photo/Video Media Release
I grant permission to Thrive Dance SK, its Studio Owners and operators the irrevocable and unrestricted right to reproduce the photographs and/or video images taken of the dancer, or members of the dancer's family, for the purpose of publication, promotion, illustration, advertising or trade, in any manner or in any medium. I hereby release Thrive Dance SK and its legal representatives for all claims and liabilities relating to said images or videos. I waive my right to any compensation.
I acknowledge that Thrive Dance SK will be equipped with audio & video cameras inside the premises for the 2026/2027 dance season for recording safety, security, and monitoring purposes. These cameras are for internal use only and are accessible solely to Studio Owners 24/7. These audio & video cameras will function as recording devices to further support the safety, security and monitoring of the studio.
Liability Release
As the legal parent/guardian, I release and hold harmless Thrive Dance SK, its Studio Owners and operators from any and all liability, claims, demands, and causes of action whatsoever, arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury including death, that may be sustained by the dancer and/or the undersigned, while in or upon the premises or any premises under the control and supervision of Thrive Dance SK, its Studio Owners and operators or in route to or from any of said premise during the 2026/2027 dance season (June 2026 - June 2027).
I also acknowledge the risks involved in dance. I swear that I am participating voluntarily and that all risks have been made clear to me. Additionally, I do not have any conditions that will increase my likelihood of experiencing injuries while engaging in this activity.
I hereby forfeit all right to bring a suit against Thrive Dance SK for any reason. I will make every effort to obey safety precautions as listed in writing and as explained to me verbally. I will ask for clarification when needed.
Registration Policy
I acknowledge that registering for Group Classes assumes participation in the final year-end recital/dance performance (excluding Adult Classes). If a dancer chooses to opt out of the recital and will be dancing recreationally instead, notice is required via email confirmation to hello@thrivedancesk.com before October 15, 2026.
Behavioural Policy
I acknowledge that Thrive Dance SK will not tolerate any harassment of any kind towards dancers, groups, Parents/Guardians, and Staff (Instructors, Admin, etc.) in any manner both inside and outside of the studio, including but not limited to in-person, via phone (texts/calls/chats/e-mail/etc.), social media, at competitions or in the community. I understand that harassment and/or discrimination of any kind will be taken very seriously.
I acknowledge that Thrive Dance SK has a procedural outline in place for addressing behavioural concerns brought to their attention. I understand that not all situations may be fully verifiable, and that in some cases, information may be communicated via email to the legal parents or guardians of the individuals involved. In such circumstances, parents/guardians may be asked to continue the conversation independently, without direct involvement or mediation from the studio owners.
I acknowledge that Thrive Dance SK reserves the right to remove any dancer or dance family displaying these actions from the class, either temporarily or for the remainder of the season. I acknowledge that no refunds will be issued for any removal from classes based on behaviour described above.
Attendance Policy
I acknowledge the attendance policy at Thrive Dance SK. I acknowledge that consistent attendance for dance class is very important. I understand that as a part of a team, dancers should make every effort to attend all classes and performances during the year. I understand that this enhances the dance experience and allows the dancer to feel confident in knowing their classwork. I acknowledge that if my child is injured, sick, or encounters a family/school/extracurricular activity conflict, I will notify the dance studio immediately by texting, calling, emailing, or submitting an absence directly into Dance Studio Pro. I acknowledge that if my dancer does not make it to class, that is my responsibility to ensure that they continue to stretch and practice at home with recorded videos from the studio so they don’t fall behind. I acknowledge that Thrive Dance SK reserves the right to not provide any refunds for students that are removed from their performance(s) due to missing a total of 7 or more classes throughout the season.
I acknowledge that early arrival for dance class is very important. I understand that classes begin with a stretch or a warm-up for safety reasons and late arrival is a disruption of concentration to the class and its students. I acknowledge that if my dancer is well enough to attend class, they will arrive on time (or earlier than the scheduled start time) and will be ready with the proper shoes and attire.
Fees & Refunds Policies (Registration, Class, Late, Costume, and Competition)
I acknowledge that the Fee Policy at Thrive Dance SK is inclusive of Registration, Class, Late, Costume, and Competitions Fees. I acknowledge that Thrive Dance SK reserves the right to pursue legal action to recover any outstanding payments.
I acknowledge that installments are based on 30 classes per season. I acknowledge that there are no refunds for classes that are not attended by students. I acknowledge that dancers’ fees must be paid for the month in order to continue dancing. I acknowledge that any unpaid fees will be subject to Installment Late Fees.
I acknowledge that any classes required to be canceled due to conditions out of the studio’s control (ex. weather, pandemic, etc.) will not be required to be made up at another date.
I acknowledge that the Registration Fee is due upon registration and is non-refundable. I understand that this balance is required to secure a spot at Thrive Dance SK and if unpaid, this spot may be forfeited.
I acknowledge that the first of nine installments is required to be paid prior to the dancer’s first day of class. I acknowledge that any unpaid fees will be subject to Installments Late Fees. I acknowledge that any installments related to the Early Bird Discount are non-refundable unless an exception is received via a written email to hello@thrivedancesk.com at the time of payment or prior to, and do not apply to sessional classes. Any changes to class registration made after the Early Bird Discount deadline will be reflected starting with the second installment and onwards.
Any installments unpaid after the last business day of the month prior will be charged a late fee of $15/week until payment is received. This fee will automatically be charged to the account and no notice is required for parents/guardians.
I acknowledge any non-inclusive pricing Costume Fees will be due before October 15th, 2026. I acknowledge that any non-inclusive pricing Costume Fee unpaid by the deadline will also be charged a late fee of $15/week until payment is received. I acknowledge that the final date to purchase all costumes will be before October 31st, 2026 in order to ensure that the costumes arrive in time becoming non-refundable. I acknowledge that Thrive Dance SK will not be liable for the timing of any costumes if the order is not placed by the deadline.
I acknowledge that if a student chooses to withdraw from their class(es), costumes will not be released until the dancer’s account is paid up until the withdrawal date. I acknowledge that if notice of withdrawal is not given as stated above, Thrive Dance SK has the right to withhold all costumes based on policy. I acknowledge that costumes are required for purchase for all Group Classes (excluding Adult Classes) and those who dance competitively. I acknowledge that should I withdraw from classes after October 15th, 2026, a charge of $12/remaining installment months/costume will be charged and owing on my account and must be paid. I acknowledge that Thrive Dance SK reserves the right to take legal action when necessary to collect any and all unpaid fees.
I acknowledge Competition Fees will be due before November 15, 2026. I acknowledge that any Competition Fee unpaid by the deadline will also be charged a late fee of $15/week until payment is received.I acknowledge that each competition will have its own deadline date to register. I acknowledge that individual competition deadlines and payment terms for each Competition will be communicated to dance families with notice prior to submitting payment. I acknowledge that no refunds will be issued since Thrive Dance SK acts as a middle entity in relation to competition fees and pays for the competition on the dance family’s behalf. I acknowledge that a portion of the competition fees include administration fees that are non-refundable. I acknowledge that Thrive Dance SK will not be liable for any registration received post-competition registration deadline.
I acknowledge that all Competition Fees are non-refundable unless stated in each Competition’s Individual Fee Policies.
I acknowledge that absolutely no refunds will be given after December 31st, 2026, and all required Fees are to be paid for the months of January 2027 - May 2027. I acknowledge that Thrive Dance SK reserves the right to take legal action when necessary to collect any and all unpaid fees.
I acknowledge that refunds will ONLY be given for installments that are paid in advance when a student chooses to withdraw from their class(es) and notice is received by Thrive Dance SK in an email a minimum of one month prior to withdrawing. I acknowledge that all installments are required to be paid up until the withdrawal date. I acknowledge that the date of withdrawal will be the last day of the month that the student is withdrawing from in accordance with the Studio Handbook. I acknowledge that if notice of withdrawal is not given as stated above, Thrive Dance SK has the right to charge for future months as based on policy.
I acknowledge that if a refund is required to be processed, there will be a $2 processing fee and an $8 administration fee to issue a refund.
